Nigeria's 11 DisCos Record Application For Power Tax Audit

The Nigerian Electricity Regulatory Commission (NERC) says eleven power appropriation organizations (Disco) have documented an application for rate survey with the commission.

A record delivered by the controller on Friday named: "Notice of Use for Rate Survey By the Power Conveyance Organizations" said the solicitation for rate survey is started on the need to consolidate changes in macroeconomic boundaries and different elements influencing the nature of administration, tasks and manageability of the organizations.

"According to Area 116 (1) and 2(a&b) of the Power Act 2023 and other surviving guidelines, the eleven (11) replacement power circulation organizations ("DisCos") have documented an application for rate audit with the  Nigerian Electricity Regulatory Commission ("NERC" or the "Commission").

"The solicitation for rate survey is started on the need to consolidate changes in macroeconomic boundaries and different elements influencing the nature of administration, tasks and maintainability of the organizations," the controller said.

Likewise, the commission welcomed the overall population for remarks on the rate audit applications by the dissemination licensees.

"Intrigued partners are encouraged to survey and think about the extracts of the Rate Audit Applications recorded with the Commission by the individual licensees. The applications can be gotten to on the Commission's site at www.nerc.gov.ng," it said.

"As a component of the standard making process and in the activity of the powers gave by the Power Act, the Commission will direct a Rate Case Hearing on the applications before making a decision.

"Any individual wishing to partake in the procedures as an intervenor ought to advance his/her application to tariff@nerc.gov.ng before the end of business on twentieth July 2023."
